What is tip411 School Edition?
tip411 School Edition is a web-based toolset that enables students to send anonymous tips to school administrators, school resource officers, and other authorized personnel who are equipped to respond to a potential problem. It provides a safe way for students to report their concerns by promoting active two-way communication with district authority figures, without fear of identification or reprisal. Students can anonymously report suspicious activity or concerning behavior, such as:
- Weapons in school
- Bullying
- Drugs
- Gang activity
- Potential outside threats
How does it work?
Tips can be sent anonymously via smartphone app (iOS or Android), text message, or via web form that can be housed on a district’s website or Facebook page. The information provided goes straight to individuals who are in the capacity to address it directly, and who can then determine what subsequent steps should be taken.
