Syracuse, NY - The Central New York Regional Information Center (CNYRIC) is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Assistant Director for Educational Information Services, Alexandra Ackerman. Alex will assume her duties with the CNYRIC effective Oct. 27, 2025.
The Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES Board of Education approved Alex’s appointment at the Sept. 18 board meeting.
Alex joins the CNYRIC after having served as the administrator for managed technology services at the Broome-Tioga BOCES South Central Regional Information Center (SCRIC), where she was the acting director of technology for the Binghamton City School District, assuming all responsibilities and duties required of the position while also advising the district on utilizing SCRIC services in an effective, student-forward manner. She was also instrumental in the creation and continuation of the SCRIC Women in Technology Leadership support group during her time with the organization.
Alex will be overseeing the Educational Data Services, Test Scoring, Food Services, and E-communication departments when she assumes her formal duties with the CNYRIC.

Alex holds an Advanced Certificate of Study in Educational Administration, and earned a Masters of Science in Education (Literacy B-6) and a Bachelor of Science in Education (Childhood Education 1-6), all from the State University of New York College at Oswego.

Alex’s professional memberships include the New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE), the New York State Association for Women in Administration (NYSAWA), and the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS).

The CNYRIC is a division of OCM BOCES, which supports 23 component districts in the region. The CNYRIC also provides technology services and programs to 27 additional school districts and three other BOCES, including CiTi (Oswego), Cayuga-Onondaga and Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga. Services include educational data services, classroom and instructional applications, network security and operations, managed technical support, printing, financial services, and more.
