The CNYRIC helped ring in the new year by welcoming OCM BOCES representatives to the campus, alongside new employees who have joined the ranks in recent months via the organization's Mentorship Program.
Through the OCM BOCES Mentorship Program, employees new to the organization are paired up with current employees for regular check-ins throughout the year, where they can freely ask questions and “learn the ropes” as they gain experience with the organization's culture. Mentees in the program, especially new employees from the other OCM campuses, are often unaware of everything the CNYRIC has on offer, and the year-long program covers a lot more ground than a standard orientation could.
In addition, mentors and new employees will travel to various OCM BOCES subsidiaries throughout the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison service area (which includes the CNYRIC) to experience firsthand more about a particular component of the BOCES umbrella, touring the facilities and learning more about both the people and the places that comprise OCM BOCES. Participants from one particular tour confessed to being amazed by the size of the Print Shop, and were impressed by the Network Operations Center, both pictured below.
