Meet our Featured Teacher - Kristy Townsend

 

 

Kristy uses Chromebooks in a variety of ways to foster 21st Century Skills. The students have used Google Drawings and Google Slides to create brochures, Slides to learn about connotation, Google Sites to create a blog last year, and WeVideo to put their own poetry to images and music when learning about mood in ELA. The students have used technology in their Project-Based Learning units where they had to create their own civilization using what they learned in social studies. She also uses the advantages of Google Forms and Kahoot! to assess students and inform her instruction.

Kristy is constantly reinventing herself as a teacher, as she continues to try new things and build her repertoire of neat and interesting learning activities that support student learning. She is even working on using Breakout EDU boxes with her students. She really enjoys providing a rich learning environment that is supported by technology.
