The OCM BOCES Curriculum Resource Center has an extensive collection of educational resources available for educators to support classroom instruction and student achievement, as well as an excellent selection of staff development materials. Please contact us if you would like workshops for your staff about our resources, how to access them, and what additional services we provide.
Over the past few months, we have had the opportunity to evaluate and purchase many new titles for our collection and like any well run library, we have also had to "weed out" some of our less used or older titles to make room for the new ones. We have added a new product to our collection of video streaming media. We are proud to announce the addition of Learn360, a division of School Specialty, to our collection. There are over 2000 titles available with many more to come.
Titles are available in a multitude of formats, including videotape, DVD, CD, Laser Disc, Audio Books, Sound Files, Photo Collections, Big Books, specialized Kits, and Jackdaws. In addition, the Curriculum Resource Center houses approximately 500 classic titles on 16mm film, one of the largest film collections available in New York State.
In keeping with the ever-changing face of technology, we continue to expand our selection of streamed video titles. Currently, many of our titles are offered in streaming format, along with the titles available through Power Media Plus (a service provided to all New York State schools through a grant with Public Broadcasting stations in New York). United Streaming titles are also available through the CRC for an additional charge.
To further support educators, our Library Media Specialist is available to provide “Curriculum Connection”. Curriculum Connection provides an opportunity for an educator to get assistance gathering appropriate materials to enhance their curriculum.
