Internet Filtering and Reporting Service Internet Content Filtering
Provides the ability to filter world wide web content. The enhanced filtering technology is an enterprise version that uses passive, non-proxy methodology. Each district has the capability of administering their own access requirements.
The service fees provide:
-Base Fee - hardware and enterprise software
-Filtering - filtering access, monitoring, reporting and storage of internet traffic.
-Administration - with the enterprise version, the districts have an option to administer their own access or select centralized administration.
-The RIC currently is using X-Stop R2000 servers supporting content management services. The categories and description along with additional information on X-Stop can be obtained at
Firewall Service
Centralized firewall protection for those districts with the CNYRIC WAN connection. Provides for hardware setup and maintenance. Maintain firewall based on specific needs of the customer. Network address translations associated with private network configurations can also be accommodated.
The service fees provide:
-Base Fee - hardware setup and maintenance
-Administration - customer specific firewall changes
-NATing - set up and maintain network address translations
-The RIC utilizes Nortel's Shasta equipment to satisfy firewall requirements.
