The New York State Model Schools Program provides support for all New York State schools that are at diverse stages of technology acquisition and application.  Over time, this program requires commitment to instructional technology planning, customized professional development, and the implementation of New York State Learning Standards and Assessment through technology.  This program extends state and regional coordination and support to schools consistent with the Guidelines for Instructional Technology Planning and Application, published by the New York State Education Department, Office of Curriculum and Instruction.

At CNYRIC, Model Schools provides instructional technology training and support for our  23 OCM BOCES component districts.  Model Schools Consultants design and implement professional development tailored to districts’ individual technology and instructional initiatives and serve as itinerant technology specialists within districts.
Model Schools Consultants provide professional development through webinars, face-to-face workshops, and on-line training.  A list of our training specialties is published on the Professional Learning page.

Model Schools is offering three featured services.  Our Model Schools Program Highlights include:

ITD TALKS:  Technology And Leadership Keynote Series:  Gain access to prominent speakers in the field of educational technology.  Click here to view the 2009 - 2010 TALKS line-up.
100+ Professional Development Opportunities:  Register on-line for webinars, face-to-face workshops, and distance learning courses.
Three Days of District-Based Support:  Schedule on-site visits with one of our instructional technologists for shoulder-to-shoulder support or group training.

There are a variety of forms that must be filled out by trainers, instructors, substitutes, and Administration regarding the Model Schools Program. The trainer is responsible for collecting these forms and submitting them to the appropriate person (either the district’s business manager or the Model Schools Coordinator).
