Virtual Hosting
|
District Servers can be virtualized and hosted on CNYRIC infrastructure. With this service a district removes themselves from the responsibility of maintaining, supporting, and purchasing server hardware. All CPU and storage space is provided, maintained, and supported by the CNYRIC. Each virtual server will be configured with 500 GB of storage. Additional storage can be obtained in 250 GB increments. In addition, disaster recovery methodology is maintained and monitored by the CNYRIC on redundant hardware. Backups are performed by the CNYRIC while restores are performed by district personnel through a web-based GUI. This service allows district administrators to focus on true administration tasks without the worry of server hardware becoming obsolete, failing, or on-going scheduled replacement. Specific functions include: installation of operating system required updates, hardware maintenance and updates, redundant SAN architecture for data storage, system backups, and generator backed power.
